Cooling towers & 2012/27/eu energy efficiency directive

Sanctions for large energy consumers who are not efficient

"DIRECTIVE (EU) 2018/2002 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 11 December 2018 amending Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency."

What changes for businesses? Let's take as an example with some extracts from the Italian decree law of 14 July 2020 (Legislative Decree 73), which entered into force on 29 July 2020.

[Art. 8] The most important change concerns a clarification regarding the obligation for energy-intensive companies to implement an efficiency intervention, present in a vague form and therefore difficult to apply in the 2014 Decree:
"[...] regardless of their size and to implement at least one of the efficiency interventions identified by the diagnoses themselves or, alternatively, to adopt management systems compliant with ISO 50001 standards, in the time interval between one diagnosis and the next, giving appropriate communication in the subsequent diagnosis of the implementation of the intervention itself;
[Art. 15] Energy-intensive companies that do not comply with this obligation are subject to a pecuniary administrative sanction from 1,000 to 10,000. Still on the subject of penalties, with the new Decree the obliged subjects (energy-intensive companies or Large Enterprises) that do not carry out the Diagnosis are subject to penalties from 1,500 to 15,000 and to the warning to perform the Diagnosis within 90 days.

BOLDROCCHI TE attentive to the ecological aspect, attentive to the long life of its Cooling Towers (at least 35-40 years), attentive to providing cleanable and sanitizable equipment to solve the Legionella problem, for several years thanks to high technology supplied by the group leader BOLDROCCHI SRL, undisputed leader also in industrial ventilation, offers its customers cooling towers (ECO and ECOR series) designed to reduce the environmental impact (acoustic and energy) up to 4 5 times less than the traditional cooling towers on the market.

Investment that generally in a continuous industrial plant pays for itself already from the first year of use, from the second year it is only energy saving, all without any performance penalty.

Just to give an example, if a standard tower consumes 15 kW, the ECOR series tower can consume ~ 2.2 kW. For more information and more precise numbers, our technical- sales office is at your complete disposal.
